OAS officer in Vigilance net

Bhubaneswar, Sep 23 (UNI) An Orissa Administrative Officer was caught red-handed by the vigilance sleuths while accepting bribe from a councillor.

According to the vigilance sources Bhadrak Municipality Executive Officer Ashok Kumar Purohit was trapped yesterday while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from councillor Habibur Raheman towards 'his commission' in sanctioning money from the Public Local Fund.

The bribe amount has been recovered and seized in presence of witnesses. A case has been registered against the OAS officer and the investigation was on.
