No pizzas or cokes near educational institutions in Nagaland

Kohima, Sep 23 (UNI) The Union Health and Family Welfare ministry has directed the Nagaland Food (Health) Authority, in pursuance of Rule 6 of the Nagaland Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1985, to prohibite the sale of junk foods immediately.

State Health Services Director V.Sekhose in an official notice had prohibited the sale of junk foods, carbonated drinks, and fast perishable food items like pizza and burger, specially near the educational institutions.

He said the step was taken keeping in view of the increasing diet related diseases like hypertension, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular problems and cancer among adoloscent mass.
