NHPC to complete power project in Ladakh by 2010

Jammu, Sept 23: National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), a Government of India Enterprise, is all set to complete Ladakh's prestigious 45 MW Nimoo Bazgo (Alchi) hydro electric power project by 2010.

While addressing a public gathering in connection with Bharat Nirman Campaign here, Mr Amresh Kumar, Chief Engineer, NHPC said the estimated Rs 611 crore project will be completed within the stipulated time and that local labour will be employed for the construction purpose.

He said the project would meet the major requirements of power in Ladakh.

NHPC is participating in the Bharath Nirman Campaign, launched by Press Information Bureau(PIB) in collaboration with all media units of Ministry of Informationa and Broadcasting.
