New V-C appointed for Jiwaji University

Gwalior, Sep 23 (UNI) Zoology Head of Department O P Agrawal has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Jiwaji University, official sources said.

Prof Agrawal assumed the charge after receiving a fax from the Raj Bhawan in this regard last evening.

Earlier, Governor Balram Jakhar asked Professor Hoshiyar Singh, facing charges of irregularities, to submit his resignation.

Prof Singh submitted his resignation to the Raj Bhawan.

Talking to reporters before assuming the charge, Prof Agrawal said he would work in the interest of organisation and to raise the standard of education.
