NCR to observe 'World Heart Day' tomorrow
New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) With a view to creating awareness about preventive heart care among vulnerable groups, Delhi and its adjoining areas will observe 'World Heart Day' tomorrow.
Heart disease being the biggest killer worldwide, several organisations and hospitals have organised a series of events to create awareness among cross-section of society.
The Indian Heart Association, in association with the Kalra Hospital and Sri Ram Heart Institute and the National Heart Institute organised a week long programmes, including seminars and interactive sessions with cardiologists, in and around the Capital which will culminate tomorrow.
Delhi Finance Minister Dr A K Walia will inaugurate a camp ''Cardiac Awareness and Multispecialty Camp'' -- organised by Fortis Hospital -- at Laxmi Nagar.
Free heart check-ups, ECG and ECHO tests and laboratory examination of blood sugar and blood pressure will also be held tomorrow.
