National festival coinciding Navarathri begins

Kottayam, Sept 23 (UNI) National festival for Music and Dance as part of the Navarathri Mahotsav at Dakshina Mookambi, Panachikkadu Saraswathy Temple started today.

Leader of the opposition Oommen Chandy inaugurated the festival.

Music Doyen V Dakshinamoorthy delivered the main sermon.

Music Concert by Dakshinamoorthy, Odyssey dance (a classical dance form of Orissa) by Dona Ganguly wife of former Indian Cricket Captain Sourav Ganguly, were among the main programmes on the inaugural day.
