Monsoon weak over south interior Karnataka

Bangalore, Sep 23 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hrs here today.

Monsoon was weak over south interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at a few places over coastal Karnataka and north interior Karnataka and at isolated places over south interior Karnataka.

Cheif amounts of rainfall (CM): Shirali, Karwar, Gerusoppa, Saigoan 4 each; Kundapur, Gokarna, Bhalki 3 each; Honavar, Londa, Hukkeri, Aurad, Afzalpur, Sodam, Manvi 2 each; Ankola, Sirsi, Yellapura, Joida, Hummabad, Gulbarga, Chittapur 1 each.

Forecast valid until Monday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka; at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over south interior Karnataka.

Farmers weather bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over Uttara Kannada district; at a few places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri, Bidar, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bagalkote districts and at isolated plces over the remaining districts of the state.

Forecast for Bangalore: Partly cloudy. Strong sunface winds gusty at times.
