Kalam's visit: security scaled up in Thiruchi,Thanjavur
Tiruchirapalli, Sep 23 (UNI) Security has been tightened in the entire city as well as the airpot here, in view of the transit visit of President A P J Abdul Kalam tomorrow.
Dr Kalam would arrive at the Thiruchirapalli International Airport at 0535 hrs by a special helicopter from Thanjavur, after winding up his three-day official visit to Tamil Nadu.
Before leaving for New Delhi by a special aircraft, the President is scheduled to meet some officials at the airport complex.
According to a report from Thanjavur, tight security arrangements have been made for the President's visit to the district tomorrow.
The President will arrive in Thanjavur in the afternoon and his engagements include presiding over the silver jubilee celebrations of Tamil university, after participating in a function in the deemed SASIRA university.
Before leaving for Tiruchirapalli, the President will also participate in another function in A V V M Pushpam college in Poondi. Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala and minister of state for finance S S Palanimanickam would also take part in the functon.
