Girl killed in fire accident

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Sep 23 (UNI) A girl student was killed in a fire accident at her residence in Adanancheri colony at Padappai near Sriperambudur.

Police said the accident occurred when the girl Kilori (10), was preparing coffee in the kitchen after her return from school yesterday when the stove exploded and the fire engulfed her body.

Since her parents were away on duty, her neighbours, on hearing her scream, admitted her in the Chennai Kilpauk Government Hospital.

The girl, however, succumbed to her injuries today.

A case has been registered and an investigation is, underway, police said.
