Gen Rodrigues advocates data bank of support services
Chandigarh, Sep 23 (UNI) There is an urgent need to create a data bank of support services to meet the emerging needs of industry and business in an increasingly competitive global scenario, Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory Chandigarh, Gen (Retd) S F Rodrigues has said.
The Governor, who discussed various measures to strengthen the support services sector with a high-level delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) led by its President Sushma Berlia yesterday, urged them to take more initiatives for integration of the sector to have a positive impact on business and investment climate.
Expressing serious concern over the growing disparity between the haves and have nots, Gen Rodrigues said every level of society, especially the corporate sector and business houses, needed to contribute to creating social equality and empowering the needy to cope more effectively.
He also offered to participate in a programme to make the Administration of the UT more responsive to the needs of industry and business to provide a roadmap for long term business plans.
Ms Sushma Berlia assured the Governor to set up core groups of PHDCCI experts in different fields for constant dialogue with the executing agencies for lending its support in implementation of various projects in the region.
