Four golden statues of temple recovered

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu Sep 23 (UNI) Police recovered four golden statues robbed from 'Adhikesava Perumal' temple at Mangalampettai in Cuddalore district, kept hidden at a residence in Chinnivakkam, near here.

Police said based on the confession made by one Kannan (30), who hails from Virudhachalam, among the six arrested earlier, a police party rushed to the spot and seized the statues.

It may be recalled that the robbers, who entered the temple four months ago robbed the idols of 'Perumal', 'Sridevi', 'Amman' and 'Ganesh'.
