Farmers will get loans with 6% interest within 15 days:Pawar

Kolhapur, Sep 23 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has assured that farmers will get agricultural loans with just six per cent interest within a fortnight, through co-operative banks and co-operative credit societies.

The Government has decided to provide agricultural loan to farmers at seven per cent interest, from which one per cent is to be endured by the state government, implying that farmers will have to pay only six per cent interest, he explained and assured that whatever problems that are there for it's implementation, will be cleared within ten to twelve days, to give early benefits to the farmers.

Refering to the ban on sugar exports Mr Pawar advised the concern to get ready for export, as the Union Government will soon declare a new policy.

His remarks have led to speculation that the ban on sugar exports might be withdrawn.

Mr Pawar was speaking at a joint rally of farmers and workers at a cluster scheme inauguration of the Parvati Industrial Estate at Ichalkaranji near Kolhapur last night.
