Devi navaratri utsavam commenced today

Rajahmundry, Sep 23 (UNI) A nine-day 'devi navaratri utsavam' commenced in the early hours of today at devi chowk by installing devi idol at the specially erected pandal with chanting of hymns with religious fervour.

According to organising committee sources, devotees from neighbouring areas were thronging to devi chowk to have a glimpse of the idol. Various cultural programmes would be conducted during the nine day celebrations.

This is the seventy second anniversary of devi utsavam, the sources added.
