CM lays foundation of 100-bed hospital

Lucknow, Sep 23 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today laid the foundation of a 100-bed hospital costing Rs 11 crore on the Kanpur road area here today.

Announcing the hospital in the name of veteran socialist leader Lokbandhu Rajnarayan, the Samajwadi supremo said the hospital would be equipped with modern facilities and the poor people would get free treatment facilities.Besides, it would benefit the people of Rae Bareli, Unnao and nearby areas. The hospital would be completed within 9 months, he said.

Addressing alargely attended public meeting after laying the foundation, the chief minister stated that education and health were the priorities of the Samajwadi Party led UP government, following which the foundation of the modern hospital was being laid in this area.

''Lokbandhu Rajnarayan was a great revolutionary leader, who took the resolve for providing good medical treatment to people living in villages. His dream was being fulfilled today.'' he added.

The former Defence Minister added that there was a possibility of Kidney and cancer diseases spreading very fast in the next 10 years, for which we have to start preparations. He appealed to the doctors to paying special attention on research works for curbing the fatal diseases.

Minister for Family Welfare, Ahmad Hasan said the state government was committed to providing health facilities to poor people, following which the budget for medicines had been increased.
