Centre and states should work together: Rajshekharan
Bhopal, Sep 23 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Planning M V Rajshekharan has reviewed the progress of various central schemes being implemented in Madhya Pradesh.
Mr Rajshekharan stressed that the centre and states should work together for development, an official release said here yesterday.
Finance Minister Raghavji, Public Relations and Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, M P State Planning Board Vice Chairman Sompal Shashtri and Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and other senior officers concerned attended the meeting held here yesterday.
He reviewed the scheme for connecting unconnected habitations to all weather roads under the Bharat Nirman Yojana.
He was informed that under this four-year scheme, 27,561 km long new roads would be constructed and 18,627 km long existing roads would be upgraded connecting 7,832 habitations to the roads.
The Union Minister said a balance between development and environment would be struck to resolve problems countering the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, pertaining to forest and mining departments.
