Bomb blast kills 2, wounds eight in Pakistan

Multan (Pakistan), Sep 23: A bomb planted on a bicycle killed a seven-year-old child and an elderly man and wounded eight people in central Pakistan today, a police official said.

''The home-made bomb was planted on a bicycle,'' said Malik Liaquat Ali, a senior police officer in Dera Ghazi Khan district of Punjab province.

Dera Ghazi Khan borders an area of Baluchistan province where tribal militants have been fighting for greater autonomy and control over natural resources.

The official said investigations were ongoing and named no suspects.
