Bangla-Dhaka University prof shot at in the capital

Dhaka, Sep 23 (UNI) The former Vice-Chancellor of National University, Prof Aftab Ahmed was shot at by unidentified gunmen at his residence in the university campus here this evening.

He was immediately rushed to a private hospital with wounds in his stomach.

First hand reports said the gunmen opened fire at Prof Ahmed soon after he opened the door responding to the calling bell at around 2000 hrs. The professor teaches Political Science at Dhaka University.

He was reportedly shot twice in his stomach.
