AGP urges Centre to initiate peace process

Guwahati, Sep 23 (UNI) The opposition Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today called upon the Central government to take urgent steps in removing the dispute in the peace initiatives by bringing the banned ULFA to direct talks.

AGP legislature Ramen Kalita said the party's legislature meeting held here yesterday resolved that the Centre should consider the ULFA's interest in finding a solution through negotiation.

The party had asked the Centre to extend the suspension of Army operation against the ULFA and initiaite the peace process.
