Abhinav, Rathore, Anjali named in Asiad shooting squad

New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) His chronic back pain notwithstanding, Air Rifle world champion Abhinav Bindra was today named in the 33-member strong Indian shooting squad for the Asian Games in Doha.

The sqaud, which also includes Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, world champion in trap event Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Olympian Anjali Bhagwat, comprised 25 men, eight women and nine officials.

Abhinav, who has already qualified for the Beijing Olympics, is uncertain about competing in the Asian Games because of the career-threatening injury.

''I'm going to Germany early next month and it's not possible for me to predict anything right now. Everything will depend on the doctor's finding there. It's a career-threatening injury after all.

''But still if I manage to regain my full fitness and have a month to prepare,I would like to give it a go,'' Abhinav earlier told UNI.
