18-year-old raped at Children's' Home

Dehra Dun, Sep 23 (UNI) Management of Children's' Home has registered a case against its manager and his accomplice for allegedly raping an 18-year-old inmate and subsequently conducting her forcible abortion.

State Women Commission chairperson Santosh Chauhan told UNI that interaction with the victim revealed she was allegedly raped by the Manager of the Home, Steven Massey, and his brother-in-law Dilip last year and they compelled her to abort her foeus at a private nursing home.

Ms Chauhan said the girl was threaned of dire consequences if she disclosed the matter.

''Steven has been suspended from his post. The medical test of the girl was conducted today and report is awaited,'' she added.
