Youth hangs himself after friend's death

Dubai, Sep 22 (UNI) A youth from Kerala, who came here looking for a job, hanged himself when he heard that his best friend back home died of heart attack under stress of separation.

Santhosh(27) could not bear the news that his friend Jaffer Ali died just two days after his departure to Dubai, Khaleej Times reported.

Relatives of Santhosh, hailing from Nieleshwaram said he wanted to return home to attend the funeral of Ali, with whom he was working in a footwear shop in Kerala for the last nine years.

When Santhosh, who arrived in UAE last Thursday, heard about Ali's death, he could not bear the loss and wanted to rush home, but was dissuaded by friends to stay back till he got a job.

Santhosh got married last year and his wife, Jayasree, is nine month pregnant.
