Red alert sounded following yesterday's Lalgarh blast
Purulia, Sep 22 (UNI) A red alert was sounded today in the entire Maoist-dominated district following blasts in the two days in which four people, including two policemen, were killed and several, including some media persons, were injured.
Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Prasad said here that the border with the neighbouring state Jharkhand had been sealed and Central para-military forces deployed in the Maoist-dominated Bandwan, Kotshila and Joypur police station areas.
He said police were keeping a close watch on the situation and ready to face any eventuality, particularly in the wake of yesterday's blast at Lalgarh of West Midnapore.
