Passengers yet to be traced

Haldia, Sep 22 (UNI) About 37 passengers of a launch, which capsized in the rough sea near Patikhali island in the Bay of Bengal last night, were yet to be traced.

Inspector General of Haldia Coast Guard Gurupdesh Singh said they rescued as many as 78 people yesterday from the turbulent river after a thorough search through their hovercraft.

A Dornier aircraft brought from Calcutta Coast Guard conducted an aerial survey throughout the day, but in vain, he said adding every small island had also been searched.

The search will continue even tomorrow, he informed.
