MCL security staff seize 18 tonnes of coal

Sambalpur, Sep 22 (UNI) A dumper carrying 18 tonnes of coal with forged documents was today intercepted by the security staff of Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) under Lakhanpur mines in Jharsuguda district.

Later the security department handed over the truck to Belpahar police station. MCL sources said the dumper belonged to Sainik transport, a company working with the MCL.

Nearly 100 tonnes of coal was transported on Friday morning with forged documents, MCL spokesman B K Raut said.

The trucks unloaded the coal at other places instead of the loading points, he added.
