Srinagar, Sep 22 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has handed over the Trikuta Nagar murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), an official spokesman said today.
In a first incident of its kind in the state's winter capital on the intervening night of September 17-18, unidentified assailants murdered three members of a family, their driver and domestic help.
Those killed were cement dealer and contractor Rajinder Bhushan Chopra, his wife, Madhu Chopra, their 17-year-old daughter Saloni Chopra, driver Jagan Singh and servant Ramu alias Sonu.
The state Cabinet, which met here last evening with Health and Medical Education Minister Mangat Ram Sharma in the chair, expressed shock at the murder, and decided to hand over the probe of the murder case to the CBI, the spokesman said..
It also decided to place the Trikuta Nagar Station House Officer under suspension and also attached the Superintendent of Police concerned, the spokesman added.
