HM militant arrested in Jammu

Jammu, Sep 22 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen(HM) militant from Bonjwah village of Doda district, police today said.

Acting on a tip-off the police, laid a meticulously planned ambush. The person was overpowered by the ambush party and apprehended. The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Israel, resident of Tipri Bonjwah and working for HM.

Police said that the militant had been active since september 1999 and was operating in Bonjwah, Chatroo and Dachhan areas. He was motivated by another militant Gulam Mohammed, area commander of HM.

The arrested is being interrogated, the police added.

Meanwhile, security forces busted a hideout in Kachwali in Rajouri district during a search operation recovering an AK rifle and five magazines, a pistol along with the magazine and three grenades.
