Free Doordarshan Direct Plus sets for NE states
Aizawl, Sep 22 (UNI) With the aim of hundred per cent reach, the Centre has decided to install about 1100 Doordarshan Direct Plus (DTH) sets across the remote parts the NE region.
Doordarshan Kendra station director, Lalrosanga said the provision of DTH aims to cover the entire NE region, where the population covered by terrestrial transmission is less than the national average.
These DTH systems would be installed in the selected villages and institutions, which are unable to receive the terrestrial signal of Doordarshan, he added.
Talking about the state transmission reach, he said at present the coverage of Mizoram population by DDK is only 73 per cent, whereas the national average is around 90 per cent.
