Cpi calls for amicable solution

Puducherry, Sep 22 (UNI) CPI national council member R Viswanathan today urged two members of parliament from the union territory to find an amicable solution as per law to the Jipmer issue and not to politicise it.

He said after Jipmer is made a national institution by changing its status, it should be ensured that general public of puducherry employees of the institution and representatives of the unions should not be affected and there should be no change in their pension scheme.

He also urged them to take ensure that group ''C '' and ''D'' employees of centrally administerd Jipmer be recruited thorugh local employment exchanges and group ''A'' and ''B'' posts be filled by people from other states only it the eligible condidates are not available in Puducherry. Fifty per cent of the MBBS seats should be filled up by local students, he added.

He also urged them to ensure that the high power administrative committee being constituted should be under the Puducherry Health Minister. Chief Secretary, Health Secretary, the two Parliament members and three more representatives from Poducherry, should be the members of the committee he added.
