CFMG reviews cease-fire progress
Kohima, Sep 22: To access the ongoing peace process a close-door discussion was held at Dimapur between the Centre and the NSCN-IM representatives.
The meeting held yesterday was attended by the Chairman of the Cease Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG), Inspector General of Asom Rifles (IGAR), CRPF Deputy Inspector General and Nagaland Director General of Police along with the NSCN-IM Convenor of the Cease Fire Monitoring Cell.
The meeting reviewed the whole gamut pertaining to the ceasefire between the Centre and the NSCN-IM, official sources said.
''We shared each other's concern and the meeting went well,'' CFMG chairman said.
However, NSCN-IM spokesman Phungthing Shimrang said the outfit had clarified the Centre regarding the violation of ground rules by the Indian Armed Forces.
The alleged nexus between Indian Armed Forces and NSCN (K) had been questioned frequently, he said.
Shimrang ironically said the NSCN-IM would is keen to watch the sincere efforts of the Centre regarding the issue.
However, he sounded optimistic about a 'successful change' in the October next meeting between the parties.
