AICC Secretary makes farmers talk to CM
Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today talked to the victims of flood-affected areas of Khammam district here on telephone at the behest of AICC Secretary P Sudhakara Reddy.
Mr Reddy, who toured the affected areas in Bhadrachalam mandal of this district here, made the farmers talk to the Chief Minister to let him know about their difficulties.
The Farmers explained their woes to the Chief Minister and the CM assured them that the government would stand with them in their hour of distress.
One farmer said that Mirch crop in 500 acres, pulses in 100 acres and food grains in 50 acres were lost due to floods that occurred twice a month.
Some farmers told the Chief Minister that they would not be able to take up cultivation again unless the government helped them.
Dr Reddy assured the farmers that sufficient compensation would be paid and help would also be rendered through financial institutions for taking up cultivation once again.
