3 women run over by train at Kurukshetra station
Kurukshetra, Sep 22 (UNI) Two female pilgrims and a minor girl were run over by a Narwana-Kurukshetra passenger train at Thanesar railway station when they were alighting from the train to reach the Brahamsarovar for a holy dip last night.
According to the eyewitnesses, the train had a halt for a very short time than usual and started moving when the pilgrims were in the process of deboarding.
They got alarmed and made haste which led to their fall under the wheels.
The irate pilgrims and other passengers expressed anguish over the railway authorities and resorted to traffic jam on Kurukshetra-Pehowa road. They were later pacified by the police and the highway was cleared.
The bodies were handed over to the bereaved families after the post mortem.
