12-foot incense stick for Navratri
Jamnagar, Sep 22: Jayantilal Jivanbhai Nakum, who is into the business of making incense sticks for the past four years, has created a record of sorts by making two mammoth agarbattis of 8-feet and 12-feet long.
He did it with the help of his two sons Manish and Mital working continously for about seven hours.
What makes the 12-foot incense stick special is that 12 types of perfumes have been used and foot of each stick would smell differently when lit, says Nakum.
What made him do this unusual work? ''I got the inspiration when during the Ganeshotsav a laddu weighing 3.5 tonnes was made for which a notification has been sent to the Guinness Book of World Records,'' he said.
The 8-foot agarbatti is of ordinary type unlike the 12-foot.
The agarbattis would be lit on September 23, the first day of Navratri at Navagam Ghad here, Nukum said.
Nukum also plans to make 17 such huge creations one next year.
As a sample piece he had made a 6-foot long agarbatti last year.
