World Route Development Forum concludes in Dubai

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) Dubai hosted the 12th World Route Development Forum from September 17 to 19 which was attended by over 2,000 representatives of airlines and airports from across the globe.

The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)'s global symposium on air transport liberalisation was held concurrently, a Dubai Tourism Commerce Marketing release here informed.

Dubai is investing around 300 billion dirhams in numerous aviation infrastructure projects, some of which are already underway while some others will be executed in phases over the coming decade, the release said. Till date, the investment in the Dubai International Airport has been 19 billion dirhams, the release said adding that the second phase, to be completed by end of 2007, is worth 15 billion dirhams and will increase the capacity of the airport to 70 million annually.

The previous World Route Development Forums have been held in Cannes, Abu Dhabi, Oslo, London, Rome, Amsterdam, Dublin, Athens, Edinburgh, Madrid and Copenhagen, the release added.
