Water level recedes in river Godavari

Rajahmundry, Sep 21: Water level in river Godavari began receding and stood at 49 feet at 0800 hours today, according to Central Water Commission(CWC).

CWC official said though the water began receding at Bhadrachalam, the water-level at Dowleswaram increased, recording 14.70 feet at 0800 hours.

More than 14.56 lakh cusecs of water was let out to sea. A second warning was sounded after midnight at Dowleswaram, the official added.
