Vigyan Prasar to start more 'Science Clubs': Tyagi

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 21 (UNI) The Vigyan Prasar under the Union Ministry of Science and Technology will start more 'Science Clubs' across the country to develop scientific temper and skill among the student community.

Talking to reporters here, Vigyan Prasar Principal Scientific Officer B K Tyagi said the ministry would make all efforts to establish a large number of science clubs to encourage students in the field of science and technology.

Any individual, Service Organizations, school dropouts, semi-literate youths or even residents welfare associations would be encouraged to start science clubs, he added.

Of the 7000 Science Clubs established in 27 states so far, 2000-odd clubs were in Madhya Pradesh and 1000 in Bihar state, he said.

The Vigyan Prasar would also start Science Clubs in Colleges and Schools in Tamil Nadu by motivating science teachers, he added.
