Unaccounted cash seized

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) Unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 50,00,000 was seized from two persons by L T Margh police on september 19.

The duo Balu Raosaheb Sinare and Ravi Kisan Gaikwad were detained by the police on suspicion and found the money in their possesion.

On questioning they revealed that they were peons with M/s Vijay Associated Wadhava, a construction firm and the money was to be delivered to Prithiviraj Kothari, according to the instructions of Sanjay Chabria their employer.

Subsequently, Chabria could not explain the exact source of the money seized, hence L T Marg police informed the Income Tax authorities about the seizure yesterday.

Deputy Director(Investigation) Income Tax assisted by Inspectors Jitendra Chandekar and S V Maluse took charge of the case and seized the cash.

Later, the Income Tax department also carried out survey at the office of M/s Vijay Associates Wadhave.
