Two killed in mishaps

Thrissur, Sep 21 (UNI) A construction labourer was killed in a wall collapse and a seventh class student drowned while swimming in a pond near his house, in two separate mishaps in Thrissur district of Kerala today.

A labourer, identified as Moothedathu Suku (58), died while the wall of a house under construction at Paravattani here collapsed.

The decased, from Nellikkunnu here, is survived by his wife and three children. Another worker injured in the incident was hospitalised .

In another mishap, a seventh standard student of the Sree Ramakrishna Ashram School in Puranattukara near here drowned while swimming, at Chittilappilli.

The deceased was identified as Libin (12), son of Edakkalathoor Lonappan.

The incident occurred when the rubber tube, with the help of which the boy was swimming, burst after getting trapped in water plants.

Fire force personnel removed the body to the hospital for post mortem.
