Train services affected

Kolkata, Sep 21 (UNI) A number of Howrah-bound Mail and Express trains, including Jodhpur Express, Bagh Express, Amritsar Mail, Bhopal Express, Kalka Mail, Agniveena Express have been detained enroute as three coaches of a local train were derailed late last night.

A Eastern Railway release said here today that morning train services from Howrah station were affected as three coaches of the last Howrah-bound Barddhaman main line local got derailed at about 00.25 hours on September 21 before entering the platform.

Up Chord Line, Down Chord Line, Up Main Line and both North and South sides of Tikiapara Coaching Depot were blocked because of this.

No injuries or casualty has been reported.

Rear four coaches were sent to the carshed at 02.35 hrs. Both up main and Down Chord line were then cleared. Up Chord line was cleared at 7.20 hrs.

As both the sides of Tikiapara Coaching Depot were blocked, there was difficulty in removing the empty rakes from there.

As a result, 3317 Up Black Diamond Express, 3017 Up Howrah -Azimganj Ganadevta Express, 2019 Up Howrah-Ranchi Shatabdi Express and 2381 Up Poorva Express were delayed.
