Talks with Congress only on Telangana: TRS Chief

Hyderabad, Sep 21 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) Founder-President K Chandrasekhara Rao today ruled out going back on his move to resign from the Lok Sabha and said any talks with the Congress will be only on creation of a separate Telangana.

Speaking to newsmen before emplaning for New Delhi to meet Lok Sabha Speaker, Mr Rao said the Congress was welcome to discuss the Telangana issue.

Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee had asked Mr Rao to meet him on September 23 to ascertain facts about the resignation letter faxed to him.

Referring to the recent visit of AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh to the state during which he directed Congress leaders not to talk about Telangana, Mr Rao said it was an attempt by the Congress High Command to stifle pro-Telangana voices in the party.

Meanwhile, TRS Leader A Narendra, who resigned from the Union Cabinet along with Mr Rao on the issue, ruled out any meeting with AICC President Sonia Gandhi on Telangana.

He also gave a call to the Congress MLAs from the Telangana region not to accept ministerial posts in the impending Cabinet expansion.
