Spot sugar prices slip on larger stock arrivals

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices suffered modestly on larger stock arrivals from mills in the face of thin bulk consumers demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today said.

Prices of small and medium grades eased again by Rs five and Rs four per quintal respectively on increased offers from stockists.

Ex-mill small and medium grade sugar also slipped by Rs five each in line with open market prices, traders added.

Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,781/1,811, medium grade: Rs 1,801/1,855.

Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,760/1,780, medium grade: Rs 1,785/1,827.
