Seven years imprisonment for tribal youth in a rape case

Rourkela Sep 21 (UNI) Adhoc Additional Sessions Judge Sobhan Kumar Das has sentenced a tribal youth to undergo seven years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 holding him guilty of raping a minor tribal girl.

Lodha Kindo(21) of Godhatola Kandabahal village of Sundergarh district was convicted by the Judge and ordered to serve a period of three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 in default to pay the fine amount.

According to the prosecution a 12 year minor girl of Godhatola Kandabahalt village had gone to a dance festival arranged on the eve of engagement ceremony of her sister on February 27 last when Lodha forcibly took her to secluded places and raped her several times.
