Seven independents file papers for by-poll

Chennai, Sep 21 (UNI) Seven persons, all independents, filed nominations on the fifth day for filing of nominations for the October 11 by-election to Madurai Central assembly constituency.

With this, 14 nominations have been filed, Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta said in a release here.

Those who filed the papers included Mr Ghouse Basha of DMK and V V Rajan Chellappa of AIADMK.
