Sensex trades 93 pts up in intra-noon trade

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) was 92.69 points high in the intra-noon trade today, as the overall sentiment turned positive on the BSE, led by a solid rally in the midcap and the smallcap indices.

The midcap is up by 0.79 per cent and the smallcap is up by 0.86 per cent.

The positivity on the sensex at 12,201.83 points, is triggered by the US Federal Reserves decision to keep the interest rates unchanged.

Meanwhile, the Crude oil price in the US market extended its downward trend, with the Nymex light crude oil for October delivery declining by USD 1.20 to USD 60.46 per barrel.

BSE sectors trading in the greeen are IT and PSU up by 1.04 per cent each, whereas the metals sector is up by 0.93 per cent and the banking sector is up by 0.95 per cent.

Major gainers on the index are BHEL up by 2.73 per cent, HDFC up by 2.59 per cent, TCS up by 1.87 per cent, Bajaj Auto up by 1.84 per cent and HLL up by 1.80 per cent.

Besides the losers are Reliance Communications, L&T, Hero Honda, NTPC and Grasim Industries - all down from 0.01 to 1.06 per cent.
