Raymond renews garmenting contract with Japanese retailer 'Konaka'

Mumbai, Sept 21 (UNI) Textile major Raymond has renewed its garmenting contract with Japanese menswear retailer Konaka&Co and his associate Lims International Company for manufacture of upto 150,000 suits per year.

Announcing this, a Raymond statement said the renewal follows the successful completion of the two-year tenure of the original contract for dedicating a part of the capacity of men's suits at Raymond's formal men's suits manufacturing plant, Silver Spark Apparel in Bangalore for manufacturing and supplying half canvas men's suits to Konaka.

The agreement was signed between Mr Kensuke Konaka (President - Konaka&Co), Mr Shinichi Noguchi(President, Lims International), and Mr Gautam Singhania, Raymond's Chairman&Managing Director at the Ritz Hotel in Paris today.

''With the support of partners such as Konaka, we will forge ahead into the global arena,'' said Mr Singhania of Raymond.

''If we are to work with an Indian company, we cannot think of any other than Raymond,'' said Mr Kensuke of Konaka&Co, which is a leading retailer of menswear such as suits, formal wears, coats, jackets, casual wear etc. The Group operates in Japan and has a presence of over 400 stores all over Japan.
