Ratan Tata to explore investment opportunities in Bihar
Patna, Sep 21 (UNI) Bihar government will woo Tata Group to explore investment potential in the state.
The government has prepared a draft presentation investment proposals on core sectors including power, road, health, hotel, tourism and transport.
State Planning Board Vice-Chairman N K Singh said here today that the state government would urge Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata and chairperson of the Investment Commission for accelerating coal linkages for two thermal power units of 2000 MW proposed to be set up at Pirpaiti and Nabinagar.
Both the units would be set up through private-public participation.
Mr Singh said the coal linkages were vital for running both the plants and the Commission has taken similar initiatives in Orissa.
He said several private investors have shown interest to invest in both the sectors but coal linkage was essential for running them.
The government would urge Tata authorities to invest in agro-based industries, leather processing and other sectors.
