Rail traffic restored after bomb scare
Bhopal, Sep 21 (UNI) Rail traffic, which was stopped after a bomb-like object was found near the track this morning at Bhadbhada station near here, resumed after more than two hours as the suspicious object turned out to be a Chinese toy.
At least 10 trains, stopped at different stations on Bhopal- Bina section of West Central Railway between 0815 hours and 1035 hours, resumed their onward journey, railway spokesman Anil Jain said.
A keyman patrolling the track spotted the ticking battery operated Chinese toy near the track at Bhadbhada station, 25 km from here. Suspecting it to be a bomb-like device, the control room was immediately informed and traffic on both Up and Down directions stopped.
Besides the bomb disposal squad and ADRM Alok Gupta, RPF, GRP and District Police jawans reached the spot and on verification, the object turned out to be a toy.
The trains detained at Bhopal and adjoining stations include Punjab Mail, Jhelum Express, Swarna Jayanti and Sampark Kranti Express on Down direction and Tamil Nadu Express, Lucknow-Bhopal Express, Vindhyachal Express, Jodhpur-Bhopal passenger, Amritsar-Dadar Express and Dakshin Express on Up direction.
