Poor and middle class most affected in flood: Kumari Shelja

Surat, Sep 21 (UNI) Central Urban Development minister Kumari Shelja visited various flood affected areas in the city yesterday and said that the poor and the middle class were the worst hit.

She added said that the Central Government will soon come out with a loan scheme for reconstruction, sources said.

She also visited places like Subhash Nagar, Bapu Nagar, J P Nagar, Dastipura, Phoolwadi and Ved Road and interacted with the local people, who had suffered losses.

A central team accompanying the minister will make a detailed assessment of the post-flood situation in the city, sources informed.
