Srinagar, Sep 20 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered an inquiry into the causes that led to the damage of a bridge in the Anantnag district due to the recent floods, an official spokesman said today.

He said Roads and Buildings Minister Gulchain Singh Charak has expressed concern over the washing away of Okura bridge in Anantnag due to the recent floods and ordered a one-man commission to inquire into the cause of damage.

Public Works Department (PWD) Joint Development Commissioner Mohammad Shafi has been designated as the inquiry officer to probe various aspects that led to the washing away of the bridge.

The spokesman said the Commission has been asked to submit its report within one week.

The Commission will see if technical specifications had been followed and whether sub-standard material was used during the construction of the bridge.
