Indian challenge over in World Badminton Championship

Madrid, Sep 20 (UNI) The last Indian flame in the World Badminton Championship was snuffed out today with Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas crashing out of the men's doubles event with a straight game defeat against the formidable Chinese pair of Fu Haifeng and Cai Yun in the pre-quarterfinals here today.

The Indian duo proved no match for their fancied Chinese counterparts who cantered to a 21-15, 21-16 in less than half hour to move to the next round.

Rupesh and Sanave simply did not have enough weapon to counter the Chinese shuttlers and the Indians tried everything they could but just could not prevent their opponent from walking away with the facile win.
