Bangalore, Sept 21: Association Connecting Electronics Industries (ACEI) President Denny Mcguirk today said that India was poised for higher growth in IT Hardware manufacturing industry despite its contribution of hardly five per cent of the total production of China.

He said China however could not sustain its leadership in Hardware manufacture as it lacked manpower and investment wise India was attracting more investment in Hardware industries and in all possibility it would emerge a major player in the coming years.

Mr Mcquirk was delivering his keynote address at the inauguration of the three day IPCAexpo 2006, an International Trade Show on Printed Circuit Board Industry, Allied equipment, Products and Business here.

''India has surplus educated manpower than China and India has registered annual growth of 9 per cent and two third of investment is in Hardware Industry. Whereas China may face lack of educated manpower in the coming days'', he added.

He said the main drawback for India was lack of proper infrastructure. If this was addressed in time and proper facilities were provided, there was no doubt of this country would register higher growth in the coming days.

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry, which is the backbone of electronic hardware technology and industry, in India was poised to sustain 30 per cent growth rate for the next five years. The total demand for electronic hardware products was expected to reach USD 150 billion by 2015.
